12 Pacific Sabatical Dan Welty always wanted to see the world. It was even an enticement for Georganne to marry him. A few years before his death he finally was able to take a sabatical for half a summer and he took Georganne on a tour of the Pacific rim. Georganne's only request was a wildflower tour of Western Australia which took place at the same time as the Ausies won their first America's cup. They Australians delighted in razzing the Americans on their wild fower bus. Georganne sketched pages of flowers. She also came back with lots of ideas for panels for quilts for her daughter and daughter in law. This one was given to Claudia Welty.
