Here's Commissioner Seagren's worthless Bureaucratic reply other LDV members have gotten the same form letter. The MDE was afraid that the Duluth School Board would sue them if they didn't OK the Red Plan. We wonder if a grieving parent will have the ability to sue the MDE if a child is killed as a result of the unresolved safety deficiencies of the Ordean site. Mr. Worley: Thank you for your correspondence regarding the Duluth Public Schools “Red Plan.” Minnesota state law gives the locally elected independent board of school districts authority and responsibility to conduct school district business as it relates to school facilities. Ultimately, I encourage the people of Duluth to work together at the local level to resolve the issues around the district’s facilities. Thank you for contacting me with your concerns.
